Hate Jimmy Fallon? Good, Me Too!

I may be the only one who really very strongly dislikes Jimmy Fallon. I just don’t find him funny. He leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t know what it is about him, but I never cared for his generation of SNL cast (but then I haven’t loved SNL since the “good old days” with Steve Martin, etc or Mike Myers, etc.

Not that I found Jay Leno super-hilarious either, but he seems more secure in himself. Jimmy just seems like he tries too hard to be funny. Maybe that’s just my opinion, though.

As I’m writing this, I’m watching his first Tonight Show. The best part of it so far has been Stephen Colbert coming out and pouring $100 worth of pennies all over his desk and Jimmy himself, before announcing, “Welcome to 11.30, bitch!” I loved that, but then I love Stephen Colbert, so I guess that makes me a bit biased. Oh well. Get over it.

I enjoyed U2’s performance on top of the Rockefeller Center, but the adverts for the new Tonight Show made it sound like they would be performing live on the show, in the studio, but it was a prerecorded show as the sun went down. Disappointing to say the least.

Will Smith was pretty funny too. With all the guest appearances they have hinted at for the rest of Jimmy’s first week, I will tune in with amusement to see how it all unfolds.

In the meantime, I will be waiting for the Olympics. And show the medal ceremonies, dammit!

Decided to get serious…

About writing on here. I have been lazy about keeping this thing active, let alone updated in a timely manner!

So 2014…well, it’s only just begun, but I’m hoping it will be a fantastic year for me and my fiance, Martin.

Stay tuned…

Oh, in other news, I upgraded my iPhone 4S to a 5S today.

My Recent Disney World Trip

OK, so Martin and I went to Disney World a few weeks back, and I figure it’s about time I write about it, and post pictures, of course!

So here goes.

Tuesday, Feb 7

  • 9.20am: We board our plane at Charlotte-Douglas Int’l Airport for Orlando.
  • 11.30am: Arrive in Orlando Int’l Airport
Luckily we carried on our bags, so we didn’t have to deal with the hassle of waiting on them to arrive at baggage claim
Try to figure out where the Disney’s Magical Express counter is that will get us on a bus to our hotel, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
  • Determine that Orlando airport has 3 levels (how odd!) and we need to go down 2 levels via the elevator to get to the Disney counters.
  • 2pm: Arrive at our hotel, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. We are tired and I think Martin is still a bit jet-lagged from traveling from England, so we get all checked in and get our room cards with our names on and the dates of our stay, which also function as our park passes, and then just chill out in the room for awhile, which was ready for us upon arrival.
  • 3pm: Finally found our room and chilled for awhile before deciding to explore the Magic Kingdom
  • 4pm:  Got to the Magic Kingdom and went on a few rides.

My Typing Speed

Well I took a test today online to see what my typing speed, also known as wpm, or words per minute, is. I knew I was a fast typer but I didn’t know what exactly my words per minute speed was. The last time I checked it was around 65 wpm, but this time it was 76 wpm.

Knowing this information will be helpful in getting a typing or writing job, where many of them require a candidate to be able to type 45 wpm as a minimum. Luckily, I qualify!

Team Crazy is Going to Disney!!

I am super-excited to report that Martin and I are going to Disney World. My mom has been mentioning for years that Martin and I should take a short trip to Disney World, as she feels (as do I) that everyone should have the opportunity to experience all that Disney World has to offer at least once in their lives.

So, thanks to my mom organizing and arranging everything, Martin and I are going! Pics and more info to come!! Stay tuned!!

Hello world!

Wow, my first “real” blog entry. I have been blogging rather sporadically over on Blogger since around 2007 or 2008, and before that, I had a blog I kept on MySpace, before that site went down the toilet (Thanks, Mr Murdoch!) My MySpace blog was quite good, but it was by no means a “professional” blog, as this is, or at least I intend it to be.

I have been hearing more and more about blogging as a profession, as in, what do you do for a living? I’m a professional blogger. And while I find this to be a silly-sounding job title, one most professional people wouldn’t take seriously, I figure, if I can’t beat ’em, join ’em. So here I am, trying to use my college degree to some extent in an economic recession that refuses to go away.

At least this way, I will be able to create a portfolio of my work and will be able to samples or a link to this blog page to prospective employers who want to know more info about me.

Unfortunately, as this is primarily a professional blog, I can’t spout off on here using bad language, and I shall have to curtail my topics, views, opinions, photos, etc so as not to attract unwanted attention to myself or my blog. Also, since employers may be reading this site, I won’t be able to say whatever I want, which is a shame, since really if I own this web address, I should technically (and/or legally) be able to do whatever the hell I want on it. Oh well, so much for freedom of speech…

But I digress. I would very much like to end this first blog post on a positive note. 2012 is just beginning and with every new year comes new promises of this year will be better than the last, in terms of health, happiness, and prosperity. So let’s raise a glass to 2012, and hope it will be the year I can realize my full potential!
